AMD: NEW ARRIVAL IN RADEON RX 6000 SERIES

 Advanced micro devices (AMD) is one of the leading brands in semiconductors and graphic cards. Recently, AMD has launched its latest Radeon RX 6700 XT graphic card.

Radeon RX 6700 XT is attracting gaming enthusiasts quite effectively. The Radeon RX 6700 XT is built for 1440p gaming. However, there is an advanced version already in their arsenal, but this is something the gamers were waiting for quite a while now. The Radeon 6000 series includes Radeon RX 6800, Radeon RX 6800 XT, and Radeon RX 6900 XT, but today we will be comparing the new RX 6700 XT with an advanced version of Radeon RX 6800 XT.



What is a Graphics Card?

A graphic card/video card is an extension for the display device that generates output images. In a computer, it can be either integrated by default or can be installed separately. Besides, these video cards can be present in a single unit with a graphics processing unit (GPU) and are even more advanced than a graphic card alone.

 The GPU diverts the additional graphic load onto itself from the CPU to enhance the gaming performance and experience. The card is installed in a dedicated socket known as a dock in the motherboard of the computer.

AMD has officially welcomed the Radeon RX 6700 XT member to be a part of their RX 6000 club. Regarding the specifications, the Radeon RX 6700 XT consists of 40 compute units, and the basic layout has a band frequency of 2321 MHz which can be boosted up to 2581 MHz. It includes 64 render output units, 2560 steam processors, 160 texture units. Radeon RX 6700 XT can draw 230W of power, so it is suggested to use a 650W power supply to run it. The attached GPU has a 96 MB infinity cache with 12GB of GDDR6 RAM, a memory bandwidth of 384 Gbps, and a 192-bit memory interface.

Concerning the connectivity, RX 6700 XT has three Display Port 1.4 ports and an HDMI 2.1 port that supports 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120 Hz. To connect the slot GPU, a 6-pin and an 8-pin connector are needed. It has two exhaust systems to cool the card from overheating.



Specs : RX 6800 XT

The Radeon RX 6800 XT is the higher-end sibling of the newly launched 6700 XT and has enhanced specs that 6700 XT. It is loaded with 72 compute units, 4608 steam processors, and 128 render output units. Like all RX 6000 XT series, it is based on RDNA2 architecture. It has a memory bandwidth of 512 Gbps and a 256 memory bus interface. The attached GPU has a 128 MB infinity cache with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM, a game clock of 2015 MHz, and can be boosted up to 2250 MHz.

RX 6800 XT has two display ports, 1.4 connectors, one HDMI 2.1 port regarding the connections. Also, it contains a USB-C connecting port for virtual reality (VR) headsets. It has three chip cooling fans integrated into it. The manufacturer (AMD) suggested power is 750W for RX 6800 XT.

Price comparison

The reason for the release of the Radeon RX 6700 XT is the reasonable price for the gamers. However, the advanced version of Radeon RX 6700 XT is the main powerhouse in the gaming field and one of the best selling products of AMD, but the Radeon RX 6800 XT is a bit expensive and can get out of budget after investing in purchasing high-end gaming laptops and personal computers (PCs).

Keeping in mind the silicone shortage, the price defined for Radeon RX 6700 XT’s reference card is $479 (INR 35109.67). Whereas the price set for Radeon RX 6800 XT’s reference card was $649 (INR 47570.30). The prices are hiking in the market, and you can find Radeon RX 6800 XT at around $1000 (INR 73297.85) on online shopping platforms.

Conclusion

The price tags on both cards are reasonable and according to their specifications. However, the good news is the gamers satisfied with 1080p, or 1440p resolution can now get their job done with the newly launched Radeon RX 6700 XT and do not have to pay an extra $170 (INR 12460.63) to get their job done.

 It is not possible for anyone to find the Radeon RX 6800 XT at its launch price. Hence, enthusiasts and gamers have an option to choose between the Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6700 XT depending upon their game preferences and resolution preferences.
