After releasing a new photo from Jurassic World: Dominion, fans are speculating the connection of the movie with “The Lost World: Jurassic Park.” It has been 15 years, more than a decade has passed since the end of Steven Speilberg’s original trilogy, which Universal relaunched the Jurassic franchise in 2015. The new trilogy put Bryce Dallas and Chris Pratt in the lead roles and filmed the opening of Jurassic World. Although the sequel trilogy continued to build off ideas from the original movie, Jurassic Park films and now Jurassic World 3 will act as a bit of a culminating chapter. In this article, we will talk more about the Jurassic series and the upcoming project. And what the picture from the Jurassic World set promises to its audience.
Jurassic World: Dominion is an upcoming American science fiction movie directed by Colin Trevorrow and written by Trevorrow with Emily Carmichael. It is the sequel of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and also the sixth project of the Jurassic Park franchise. Jurassic World: Dominion would also be the third and final film of the Jurassic Park trilogy. The filming of the movie began on 24th February 2020 and moved to other locations in Britain on 9th March 2020. On 13th March, the production stopped the shooting due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The filming resumed on 6th July 2020. The production team has scheduled the film for theatrical release on 11th June 2021 by Universal Picture.
In 2014 director Colin Trevorrow said that they are planning to create something that would be less arbitrary and episodic, which could be arc into a series. He also announced that Actor Chis Pratt who performed the character of Owen in Jurassic World was signed for the future project of the franchise. The team then announced the untitled film, known as Jurassic World 3 in February 2018. It was also announced that Trevorrow would write and direct the screenplay.
The Picture
Recently, Colin Trevorrow shared a picture from the set of Jurassic World: Dominion exclusively with Jurassic Outpost. The picture includes references to a location that is familiar with the previous series. The photo shows a cold storage container inside some lab. The container is labeled with the title, “Site B Isla Sorna.” Isla Sorna is an island (207 miles) 333 kilometers west of Costa Rica. It is the largest island of the island chain, The Five Deaths, which is located northeast of Isla Tacano and south of Isla Muerta. After International Genetic Technologies (also known as InGen) bought Isla Sorna, they named the island “Site B.” The InGen made the Isla Sorna “factory floor,” where they used to clone dinosaurs in various facilities. Isla Sorna was first introduced in The Lost World and then later revisited during Jurassic Park 3.
After cloning the dinosaurs in Isla Sorna, the InGen then transported them to Isla Nublar. Ian Malcolm was initially sent to the island Isla Sorna to document the life of dinosaurs, to build it into a natural preserve. But later, they made a different plan to move them to a new location in San Diego, which did not result well. When Alan Grant went to the island Isla Nublar to rescue the child, he discovered that InGen had illegally continued cloning on the island in secret, which leads to the opening to Jurassic World.
Although the location of the featured crate is the guarantee that the new movie Jurassic World: Dominion would explore the island Isla Sorna again, the possibility is still there. Another possibility is, the container might contain embryos cloning. The InGen could have possession of the containers. It is revealed that Biosyn will return through Lewis Dodgson.
In the cast, Chris Pratt who brilliantly performed the character of Owen Grady, the Navy SEAL veteran, and ethologist. Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, the Jurassic World operations manager. BD Wong played the role of Dr. Henry Wu, the geneticist who is the team head who created the Dinosaurs World. Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Jake Johnson, and others in many famous characters.
Neil, Goldblum, and Dern were confirmed to be returning to the franchise in some significant roles in September 2019. DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie were cast in lead roles in October 2019. Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith reprise their respective roles in the same month. In early 2020, Jake Johnson and Omar Sy were signed for their part for the movie.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom did a gross business of $890.7 million in other territories, $417.7 million in the United States, which makes the worldwide collection of $1.308 billion. The film became the 35th film to perform so wonderfully at the box office and became the seventh movie for Universal Pictures.
The original movie was, though not so widely accepted by the audiences and the critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, Jurassic World got 47% approval based on 419 reviews, which gives it an average rating of 5.43/10. The movie got “A-” on the audience poll by CinemaScore on a scale A+ to F. Chris Pratt, and Bryce Dallas Howard won the Teen Choice Awards for Best Actor and Best Actress on 12th August 2018 for the film. The film was nominated for Best Science Fiction Film in Saturn Awards on 13th September 2019, although it didn’t win it.
The Jurassic World has far more exciting stories to tell its fan base, which revolve around dinosaur-related experiments, so Jurassic World 3 could follow the trend, and excites its audiences with some glimpse of the shoot like the container one. I hope you liked the article and have a fun time reading it.
