  1. Making Invisible Folder via Invisible Name and Icon
  2. On your computer, press the Windows logo + D keys together on your keyboard at the same time to get to the home or desktop screen. 
  3. Now once you are on the home screen of your PC, make a right-click on the empty desktop screen.
  4. Hover the mouse cursor over the New option. 
  5. Then, make your way to the Folder option.
  6. Now you will see a new folder on the screen which name can be edited right there.
  7. While renaming the folder, you have to hold down the ALT key on your keyboard and then put in 255 with the help of a numeric keypad of your keyboard. Unless you use the num pad, the name won’t become invisible.
  8. Press the Enter key on your keyboard to make the process happen.
  9. If you have used the standard number keys on your keyboard, then the name will not become invisible. So, make sure to strictly use the num pad to type 255 in the place of the name of the folder. 
  10. Now what you did above entered a special character in the name of the folder, which is not available on the keyboard.  This is known as ASCII character code. It is one of the invisible names of the folders on Windows.  Now the name of the file would not show in the file explorer or wherever you keep it.
  11. Now that the name is hidden, you have to manage to make the icon disappear too.
  12. Let’s get to it and make it invisible as well by making a right-click on the folder. 
  13. Head to the Properties option. 
  14. Navigate to the Customize tab.
  15. Make your way to the Change Icon label situated in the Folder Icons heading. 
  16. Now the window named Change Icon for Folder would appear. 
  17. Then scroll towards the right side, look for the invisible icon.
  18. Select it and then press on OK.
  19. Head to OK button once again to finish the process.
  20. Now you have the invisible folder ready. 
If you want to see or open it, simply drag your mouse cursor over a large area on your desktop screen to choose multiple folders.  To do this, hold your mouse left click on the desktop screen and then move your mouse cursor towards the location where the invisible folder is located on the screen. This will make a selection on the hidden folder, and you would be to see it. Now you can add as many files to it to hide them up. However, if someone searches for the files in the file explorer, the files will appear there in the results.
